Laqu® products are made from a proprietary formula, utilizing the natural absorbent and neutralizing abilities of seaweed, Laqu Eco-Litter® and Laqu Eco-Bedding® neutralizes odors better than clay, pine, corn and wheat – it does it naturally instead of adding strong perfumes or fragrances.

All of our products are dust free. Unlike clays, Laqu Eco-Litter® or Laqu Eco-Bedding® do not contain silica dust, so you and your pet can breathe safely. Our products are made from all-natural plant-based ingredients, so the fine particles are naturally occurring. Unlike bentonite and silica dust, it is not harmful to the health of you or your pets.

Our products are non-toxic and made without any harmful ingredients. Seaweed is a superfood, however, ingestion of urine or fecal matter can be detrimental to their health, so we don’t want this to become a habit.

Laqu products are unique in their formulation and completely new in the market, so it is important to know how they perform their functions and what we can expect from them.

It is important to be clear that in order to achieve the functionality of the substrates or sanitary sands (absorb liquids, encapsulate odors, maintain hygiene for as long as possible), different properties of the materials can be used, such as absorption, retention or agglutination.

Our products are made from seaweed, which have the natural, organic ability to absorb more liquid at the molecular level and retain it. This superior absorption characteristic is based on the presence of cellulose and hydrocolloids, which provide greater durability, odor control and minimize bacterial proliferation due to their natural salt content.

Laqu products, in their different presentations of pellets and leaves, increase the power of absorption and retention of liquids, so that as the days go by, the “used” pellets become lighter in color and expand their volume as a result of this greater absorption of liquids, being easy to identify them for their removal.

Laqu has proven to have comparative advantages, absorbing up to seven times its volume, measured over a period of 3 to 24 hours.

Laqu Eco-Litter or Laqu Eco-Bedding, being products made only from seaweed, are not agglomerating products, unlike those made from minerals, such as silica or bentonite. This is what allows all Laqu products, as well as their packaging, to be compostable, so they do not generate waste that negatively impacts the environment.

Yes, but it is not recommended to use it for gardens intended for food production. This is because cat feces may contain a parasite called Toxoplasma-gondii that causes a disease known as toxoplasmosis. Remember that before composting, you must remove the feces or solid wastes that are not part of the substrate. To do so, we recommend that you follow and comply with the instructions of the health authority in your region or country.

Depending on the size and use of your cat, Laqu Eco-Litter® can last from 5 to 7 weeks before a complete change.

When you open the package containing Laqu products, you may smell a slight odor of dried seaweed, as we do not use chemicals or perfumes. This perceived odor is totally natural and will diminish with time.

Unlike mineral cat litter which is disposed of with household waste after use, Laqu Eco-LitterⓇ and Laqu Eco-BeddingⓇ are of purely vegetable origin, compostable and completely biodegradable. It can be easily disposed of in the organic waste container or composted after solid waste has been removed, respecting and following the recommendations of the local authority and legislation. Small quantities, such as the lumps that are produced daily, can be easily and directly disposed of in the toilet, as it dissolves completely in water, however, we recommend composting the Litter already used, in this way we take care of the environment and do not use unnecessary water.

The general rule of thumb is one litter tray for each cat in the household, plus one extra. This way we avoid that one of them cannot use the litter tray because it is already occupied.
